Pricing & the guarantee

Bring up your first device for free. Checking a register map against real hardware is the work we do; your first one is on us, so you can see the map and the readings before you decide anything.

The first device is free

Look up a device or upload its manual, flash a stock board, and read it live in your browser. You get the verified map and the readings at no charge. No sign-in to look up a device that is already in the library.

More devices, and the extras, are paid

Beyond the first device, additional devices are paid. Two add-ons are also paid: a custom live display — a panel of your device's live values, generated and checked to render — and hardware-verified trust, where a secure element on the board signs each reading so the map is proven against your real device, not just internally consistent.

Price follows the work. A small meter and a large drive are not the same job, so we are building pricing around the effort a device actually takes, with an estimate shown before you commit. Until that is in place, write to quic@ke.st and we will quote your devices.

If you wire up real hardware, you pay only if we talk to it. A read comes back off your device, or there is no charge — reaching your device is our side of the bargain, not your risk.

The guarantee, precisely

What triggers a refund: a paid checkout shows our connector decoding your device incorrectly, in word order, scaling, or addressing. The run's recorded artifacts are the evidence. You do not have to fill out a form or argue a case.
If we never reach the device: you are not charged at all — not a refund, just no bill. Wiring, baud rate, and unit ID problems show up in the diagnostic, with the specific cause named, and we help you fix them. You can re-run once the link is up.
The promotion rule: a connector is promoted only when every point is attested. Partial evidence leaves it at its current rung.

Where the money goes

A share of revenue funds trades mental-health organizations and community workshops (men's sheds). We are a Pledge 1% company. We publish the receipts quarterly.

Upload terms, in plain words

Upload only documents you have the right to share.
We retain uploaded documents in a capped store so a person can review the extraction against the source. A map is published only after that review.
Extracted device-behavior facts (register addresses, types, scales) may be published to the library after review, under a contribution license that lets us maintain and license the aggregated library. We publish nothing about you, your customers, or your network.
Uploads are not published automatically. Submissions sit in a review queue until a person has reviewed them.
Shared checkout sessions carry the same handling: anonymized device facts only, recorded with your stated consent, nothing about you or your site.
